Welcome to Marion!
"Home of Real Water - Artesian Wells"

A friendly community nestled in the heart of some of Michigan's finest recreational lands. We are located in Central Northern Michigan on the banks of the Middle Branch River with many lakes, streams and the Muskegon River within easy reach. Some of the state's finest hunting and fishing is found here.

Marion, located on M-66 just southeast of Cadillac, is a welcoming community with excellent schools, churches, and a variety of businesses and restaurants in the downtown district. Marion has a weekly newspaper, a Downtown Development Authority and an active Chamber of Commerce which sponsors the annual Old Fashion Days celebration each August. The Marion Fair is a highly anticipated event which occurs each June. Attractions feature animal exhibits and judging, harness racing, midway rides and top-name grandstand entertainment.

Marion and the surrounding area offer visitors a large variety of recreational activities. From canoe and tube trips down the Muskegon River, miles of ORV and snowmobile trails, boating on area lakes to mushroom hunting and trout fishing in the spring. The area has something for everyone.

Veteran's Memorial Park boasts an exceptional, full-service campground situated on the Middle Branch River Walk. The village also has a fine motel.

Thousands of acres of state land are within easy reach of Marion and offer endless recreational and easy sporting possibilities. The area is well know for its fine deer and small game, partridge, goose and duck hunting.

The Middle Branch River is a designated trout stream where Brown and Brook trout are a test of the angler's skills. In addition to trout, pan fish, bluegill, bass and walleye can be found in area lakes and streams.

The Marion area is home to many farms growing a wide variety of crops. The area is especially suited to dairy and livestock farming.

We welcome you to Marion an ideal place to live, work and vacation!
